WHO WE ARE

Hi! Thanks for stopping by. It's lovely to meet you, I'm Maddie and I'm the artist, designer, accountant, tea-maker, order-packer and admin whizz behind Also the Bison. I'm involved from the first brushstroke of a design all the way along to packaging up your orders and sending them to you.

OUR MISSION

When I started Also the Bison back in 2016 I knew I wanted to create something bright, colourful and fun but most of all, I wanted to reject the fast-paced, unsustainable and unethical practices I had seen daily working in the fashion industry. I work with other small businesses in the UK and Sweden to print my designs, who care just as much about the environment and their employees as I do. All my products are made from the finest natural, recycled and FSC certified materials.

So you can be sure that no bison are harmed in the making of our products, directly or indirectly.

THE PROCESS

My illustrations are inspired by the Natural World, breathing life into old collections of curiosities in museum cases, strange taxidermy creatures and diagrams in dusty, forgotten books. These illustrations are then collaged into an explosion of colour and print.
