Ammonoidea (n) - Ammonoids are a group of extinct species of marine mollusc animals. They are excellent index fossils, and can be used to date geological formations.
The Ammonoidea print is inspired by my long-term fascination with fossils, from staring for hours at dinosaur skeletons in museums to picking up ammonites along the Dorset coast. This intricate pencil design features trilobites and orthoceros fossils alongside the eponymous, swirling ammonites. Each ammonite has been hand drawn in pencil and collaged against a rich brown watercolour background before being digitally printed in the UK onto thick 300gsm card using eco-friendly inks. The front has a glossy water-based coating while the back remains matte to give it that authentic seaside souvenir feel. It’s a miniature work of art, send it to a friend or stick it on your wall - it’s up to you!
Postcards are available to buy as a single postcard (£1), or as a set of six (£5).
