Pleuroceras solare (n) - a species of ammonite from the lower Jurassic, upper Pliensbachian period. Species of this genus were fast-moving nektonic carnivores. Shells can reach about 45 mm in diameter.
The Specimen range of Greetings Cards has been inspired by carefully labelled specimens collected and stored in Natural History Museums, each with a careful note of their species in latin written in calligraphy underneath. They're a great way to buy one of my original artworks, and look spectacular framed. This ammonite has been hand drawn in pencil before being digitally printed in the UK onto 300gsm recycled card using eco-friendly inks.
Also the Bison greetings cards are blank inside - perfect for you to write, draw and doodle in! Each card is sent 'naked' and plastic-free, with a brown kraft paper envelope included.
